RPN Job Description
The ideal candidates will possess:
- Current Certificate of Competency as a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) from the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Proof of two valid doses of Covid-19 Vaccine
- Demonstrate leadership abilities with comprehensive knowledge of nursing and health care practices and techniques
- Maturity and good physical and mental health, empathy, patience, and tact are important qualities to possess
- Seek out opportunities to maintain competency and continued learning
- Current CPR (Level C – HCP) and First Aid
The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:
- Provides nursing care in accordance with administrative policies, physician’s orders, medical directives, established standards and nursing principles
- Assesses Resident conditions by recognizing and interpreting signs and symptoms, where appropriate, initiates remedial health measures
- Promotes a positive team spirit within the department and the residence
- Maintains accurate and complete clinical records on all Residents, while maintaining confidentiality
- Ensures the recording and safe keeping of all drugs including controlled drugs and narcotics
- Assists with new physician’s orders and reorders medications that are low in supply
- Administers medications according to correct procedures and ensures proper documentation is maintained
- Delegates tasks and additional responsibilities to the PSW, as needed
- Takes an active leadership role within the department
- Is knowledgeable of the Resident Bill of Rights and endeavours to respect and promote it
- Other duties as assigned by the General Manager and/or Clinical Director
Job Type: Part-time
Part-time hours: 16 per week
Salary: From $23.51 per hour

- 8 hour shift

- Weekend availability

Education: Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)

- LPN/RPN (preferred)
