We are seeking a Bobcat Operator for a 2 week project in Welland. In this role, you will be responsible for operating a Bobcat skid steer loader to excavate soil, level surfaces, and perform other excavation tasks as required on construction sites. The ideal candidate will have experience in heavy equipment operation, with a strong focus on accuracy and efficiency in excavation work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a Bobcat skid steer loader and other heavy machinery to excavate soil, remove debris, and perform trenching work as needed.
- Conduct daily inspections of the equipment to ensure it is in good working condition, and perform routine maintenance tasks.
- Dig, level, and move soil and other materials for various construction projects, including foundations, grading, and landscaping.
- Ensure the excavation site is properly set up and aligned, following project plans and specifications.
- Collaborate with the construction team to meet project deadlines and maintain workflow.
- Operate machinery in compliance with all safety guidelines and local regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment on the job site.
- Assist in other construction tasks, such as loading/unloading materials and preparing sites for further work.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and other team members to ensure efficient and safe operations.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Bobcat operator, with a focus on soil excavation and material handling.
- Knowledge of construction safety practices and ability to work in compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret project blueprints and site plans.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions and physically demanding environments.
- Certification in operating Bobcat equipment or related machinery preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working in all weather conditions (cold, snow, rain).
- Ability to stand, sit, bend, or crouch for long periods of time.
- Ability to work in noisy and dusty environments.
