Summary of Responsibilities:

At Marriott on the Falls & Marriott Fallsview Hotel and Spa, our operations thrive with the commitment of Associates who demonstrate and support the Marriott core values and culture of putting people first, acting with integrity, serving our world, embracing change, and pursuing excellence. We are currently seeking a Laundry Driver/Laundry Attendant who has a passion for excellence to assist our Laundry team in processing laundry and delivering it throughout various affiliated hotels in Niagara Falls.

Reporting to the Executive Housekeepers of the Marriott on the Falls & Marriott Fallsview Hotel & Spa, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to:

  • Driving the laundry truck to and from the various hotels and loading and unloading laundry as required.
  • Operating and monitoring the washing, dry cleaning, and drying machinery, and cleaning lint traps.
  • Identifying stained or damaged items and determine status for repair, spot treatment, rewash or discard; loading and unloading washing machines and dryers.
  • Feeding the machine with linen; inspect cleanliness of articles removed from the washer, dryer, or dry cleaning machines and place in clean linen carts.
  • Setting dryers to designated times and temperatures based on fabrics contained in load; remove lint and debris from dryer screens, dry cleaning filters, and drain trap each load.
  • Folding, sorting and shelving laundry items.
  • Maintaining accurate records of items laundered; feed and operate the press; fold all blankets, duvets, mattress covers, towels, bath towels, hand towels, facecloths, and bath manually and place on the appropriate shelves.
  • Maintaining cleanliness of laundry room such as vacuuming, dusting and sweeping; follow all Occupational Health and Safety policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Completing various duties assigned by your manager or supervisor.

What we’re looking for:

  • Clean driving record.
  • Previous laundry experience is an asset.
  • Must have valid driver’s license to drive a delivery truck.
  • Must be dependable and must be a team player.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs.
  • Must be able to transport linen(s) over the course of a full-shift, and ability to stand for the majority of the shift.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Possess a good command of the English language and the ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate.
  • Enthusiasm, willingness to learn and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends, evenings, overnights, split duties and public holidays.
  • Must have attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well under pressure. Remain calm and courteous at all times.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and follow up.
  • Ability to perform job functions with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to maintain and portray Marriott Standards and Policies.
