John Howard Society of Niagara seeking 1 Full Time Permanent Program Assistant
The John Howard Society of Niagara is searching for a Program Assistant. The Program Assistant position may be shifted across all other JHSoN locations in accordance with operational needs.
You will have:
- Successful completion of a post-secondary program with a focus on business/office administration;
- A minimum of 6 months of proven office experience, however 2 years’ experience preferred
- Knowledge of Niagara Region community resources;
- Computer knowledge and proficiency, particularly in the following programs: Word, Access, Publisher, Excel and Outlook;
- Excellent grammar, spelling and proof-reading abilities;
- Good communication skills (written and verbal) and a pleasant and professional telephone manner;
- Teamwork, attitude and approach to duties;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to interact with clients;
- Ability to work independently, possessing good problem-solving and creativity skills;
- Excellent organizational skills;
- Excellent customer service orientation.
In this position, you will be responsible for:
- Providing assistance to incoming general public, providing accurate and appropriate program information, front end customer service;
- Answering telephone switchboard system, transferring calls to appropriate staff and/or forwarding detailed telephone messages, forwarding calls to voicemail, checking the general voice mailbox for messages and/or referring callers to appropriate agencies;
- Inputting statistical data into various databases;
- Preparing and maintaining statistical reports and other related documentation;
- Handling all incoming/outgoing mail/correspondence and forwarding to the appropriate staff person;
- Responsible for operation and maintenance of office equipment such as fax machine, photocopier, and postage meter;
- Supporting the efforts of the Financial Services and Employment teams;
- Supporting operational administration.
Salary Range: $40,816.85 to $47,543.47
