- Hours: Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm
- Pay: $22.57 per hour
Purpose of Position:
This position will be responsible for picking up all resources needed as well as care and maintenance for all Hope Centre Vehicles. Working closely with the Foodbank Coordinator to ensure care of the warehouse and storage areas including deliveries. Supporting the Hope Centre team in maintenance needs around the location.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Safely operate Hope Centre Vehicles in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and Safety Policies
- Pick up and delivery of items as assigned
- Ensure load security
- Monitor and ensure proper vehicle maintenance and cleanliness
- Maintain records as required
- Manage stock in storage, on and offsite along with FoodBank Coordinator
- Assist in receiving deliveries and donations
- Complete all required records, including incoming/outgoing weights
- Assist the Food Security Coordinator with tasks, as required
- Ensure confidentiality is maintained for our clients
- Must adhere to the Health and Safety policies and procedures
- Participate and help coordinate at special events and food drives
- Maintain all inventories needed
- Basic maintenance around the building
- Other duties as assigned
Skills and Knowledge:
- Experience working in a food bank an asset
- Completion of High School or Equivalent
- Valid Drivers License, minimum Class G with no restrictions
- Clean Driver’s Abstract
- A clear PVSC (Police Vulnerable Sector Check) is required
- Experience in providing excellent customer service an asset
- Ability to operate in a busy environment with multiple interruptions
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to plan and prioritize work and remain adaptable/ flexible
- Ability to function in a team setting
- Strong computer skills with word processing, spreadsheet, and database software an asset
- Lift truck certification an asset
- First Aid and CPR training an asset
