We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team.
The Estimator will play a crucial role in our construction projects by accurately assessing project costs, analyzing blueprints, conducting site visits, and collaborating with various stakeholders. The ideal candidate has a strong background in construction estimating, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Utilize your expertise to accurately estimate project costs, including materials, labor, equipment, and other relevant expenses for ICI construction projects.
- Review and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, and other project documentation to ensure comprehensive understanding of project requirements and scope.
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs from construction drawings and project specifications to determine the required quantities of materials, labor hours, and equipment necessary for each project phase.
- Liaise with suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors to gather accurate pricing information, evaluate bids, and negotiate contracts to ensure competitive and cost-effective project execution.
- Conduct site visits to evaluate existing conditions, potential challenges, and any factors that might impact the cost estimation or project timeline.
- Analyze historical data, market trends, and industry benchmarks to refine and validate cost estimates, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project goals.
- Assist in the development of project budgets by providing accurate cost estimates and collaborating with the project management team.
- Prepare comprehensive and detailed project proposals and bid packages that clearly outline the scope, estimated costs, and other relevant project information for submission to clients.
- Maintain organized records of cost estimates, bids, project documentation, and communication with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in construction estimating, and actively seek ways to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of the estimation process.
Qualifications:
- Post secondary education in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Proven experience as an ICI Estimator with a strong track record of successful projects.
- Proficiency in construction estimation software and tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint)
- Solid understanding of construction materials, methods, and techniques.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills to effectively interact with vendors, subcontractors, and team members.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.

Experience:
- Construction estimating: 4 years (preferred)
- Commercial construction: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification: Driving Licence (required)
