Areas of Responsibility:
- Assisting in the preparation of menu items in accordance with corresponding recipes.
- Performing activities such as wash, peel and cut fruits and vegetables.
- Handling food storage and store leftover food properly.
- Utilizing a wide range of kitchen equipment and utensils.
- Learning cooking methods used throughout the kitchen.
- Assisting with sanitizing, organizing and cleaning the kitchen.
- Minimizing waste in order to reduce food costs.
- Compliance with all safety regulations of assigned tasks, and ensure a clean and safe working environment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Culinary education and a passion for food.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Knowledge of basic sanitation requirements and food safety standards.
- Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to work in hot and humid environments.
- Stand and walk for an extended period of time.
- Ability to lift, bend, twist and pull.
License/Certification:
- Food Handler Certification (preferred)
